thank-you goldtone! Whew! I had a great shopping-day today! There is a big church about 5 blocks up the hill from us, and they have a huge rummage sale every Oct. I get a lot of my vintage jewelry there for re-use in my own designs. Today was kind of weird, though, because they didn't have as much jewelry as usual! But they did have clothes - TONS! I am a vintage clothing nut, and this church has many elderly women members. Well-off, too! The clothing they "give up" is pehnomenal and designer! I got a black and white houndstooth full-length wool coat with a hot pink silk lining for $6! like new; not a spot on it; all big shiny black buttons present. It's double-breasted with a matching sash-tie belt. Totally 60's and my size! Woo-hoo! Bonus, too; when I got it home I discovered a pair of red kid gloves in the pocket that fit like...well, of course! I got a bunch of other neat vintage clothes there, and some other neat stuff for making jewelry. Hint: wooden puzzles.??? Gotta get to work on those! Later!
I love working, crafting, reading, learning and being busy all the time. I hate to waste a minute not doing something productive! I am most successful when I am doing 25 things at once. I think that the internet is the most fabulous tool for learning new things and meeting people who have similar interests. I spend a ton of time on Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, BlogCatalog, Etsy, Blogspot, etc. Nobody knows that I have a penchant for primitve folk crafts and a little bit of country crafts as well. I LOVE Mexico, Mexican Folk Art, Dia De Los Muertos, Sugar Skulls, tattoos and tattoo flash art, skulls, and vintage jewelry. I obsess over Halloween and vintage Halloween crafts. I adore fall and the holiday season and I wish it smelled like pine and cinnamon all year round (it does in my house). I would possibly consider hooking on the street for handmade soap and candles, all of which I buy on etsy! I do all of my gift shopping on etsy as well. I have the best job in the world as a GM for a luxury dog boarding and daycare facility in the city and I get to spend ALL my time with dogs, so I'm pretty fortunate.
